Kick Off Summer With Free Ice Cream From Kroger

While Memorial Day marked the unofficial kick-off to summer for many of us, the season actually begins on Thursday, June 20th. And to mark this special day, you can get free ice cream at Kroger! Keep reading to find out how you can claim your free pint.

The beginning of summer is known as summer solstice, which marks the longest day of the year. It's also when the Sun is at the highest point in the sky and Earth is at maximum tilt toward the Sun. This means we get the most hours of sunlight we'll see all year in a single day. In fact, we'll have 15 hours of daylight on June 20th.

After summer solstice, the amount of sunlight we see each day will slowly decrease. That leads to the shortest day of the year, or the day with the least amount of daylight, which will be Saturday, December 21st. And it's complete opposite of summer solstice. At that point, the Earth is tilted farthest from the Sun.

But of course, summer ends long before December. Fall will officially begin on Sunday, September 22, 2024, although many consider summer over on Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2024).

With Thursday, June 20th being the longest day of the year, Kroger is celebrating with free ice cream. Since we will have 15 hours of daylight, Kroger is giving away 50 pints of free Kroger Brand ice cream per minute. And in case you're wondering, that's 900 minutes of sunlight, and 45,000 pints of free ice cream.

To claim your free pint, you can visit FreeKrogerIceCream.com. You will get a limited-time, single-use digital coupon. It will only be available for download on Thursday, June 20, 2024, while supplies last. The coupon is redeemable for one free pint of Kroger Brand ice cream at many Kroger Family of Stores locations.

You can choose from any of the Kroger Brand ice cream flavors, including a fan-favorite for summertime, "Deluxe Tye Dye Burst" with swirls of vanilla, cherry, and blue moon. But of course, you can alway choose from classics like my favorite, Mint Chocolate Chip, or Vivid Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and more.

But with so many great flavor options to choose from, what are our favorite ice cream flavors?  A survey from YouGov asked adults about their favorite flavors... and vanilla and chocolate ranked high of course, but there are some other flavors that might surprise you in the top 10!
