Evans High School Graduation Delayed Due to Weather
Evans High School graduation ceremonies at Evans Towne Center Park are being delayed by 30 minutes, due to the weather.
Graduation was scheduled to begin at 7 pm, but that’s been pushed back now to 7:30 pm tonight.
A statement from the Columbia County School System says:
“Weather reports indicate the potential for inclement weather and lightning this evening until 7:00 pm. In an effort to accommodate the large number of families and guests with tickets, we will delay the start time for commencement to 7:30 pm, with gates opening at 6:45 pm at Evans Towne Center Park.”
Graduates are being asked to report to the staging area at 6:45 pm. Families and guests are encouraged to anticipate wet conditions in the grass seating area, and dress appropriately, including proper footwear.
“Please bring your own seating. We will continue to monitor the weather and if forecasts or reports change, we will provide similar notice,” said school officials.
The ceremony will be livestreamed as planned, and can be viewed at https://bit.ly/ccsdlive.
