Bomb Threat at Bon Air Apartments in Augusta: Update
A bomb threat at Bon Air Apartments in the 2100 block of Walton Way was investigated, but Richmond County authorities now say the area has been deemed safe.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says the threat was received at 8:48 a.m.
Deputies evacuated the building as soon as they arrived and Bomb and K9 Units searched the area.
A news release from the Sheriff’s Office says: “The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office EOD Units have determined no hazards were located and no explosive odors were detected. The scene has been released and turned back over to the Bon Air Apartments.”
