Delays on Milledgeville Road at the Olive Road intersection are being reported due to a two-vehicle wreck this morning.
The Augusta Fire Department says motorists are asked to avoid the area for the time being.
Traffic Lights Out
Traffic lights in the area are currently out, due to the accident.
"For safety and to ease congestion, we recommend using alternative routes until further notice," said a notice from the fire department.
It's not known if anyone was injured.
It was just last month that the Olive Road bridge was hit again. A camper-type vehicle hit the structure, causing a beam to fall. The driver left the scene. The section of Olive Road near the bridge was closed to traffic while CSX crews make the necessary repairs. Officials say that could take a few months.
