Similar Incident Happened Earlier this Month in North Augusta

Two vehicles crashed into the Town Square Olive Oil and Wine business on Georgia Avenue earlier this month, resulting in multiple charges against one of the drivers.

The North Augusta Department of Public Safety said an eyewitness reported seeing an SUV hit a parked car, forcing a Ford Explorer parked in front of the building to crash into the business.

The driver of the SUV was identified as 34-year-old Christopher Curtis.  He told police he had picked up two juveniles from a nearby park and didn't know what happened.  Officers said Curtis had slurred speech and they detected the smell of alcohol.  Authorities said they found a bottle of alcohol in the center console of the vehicle.SUV crashes into Town Square Olive Oil and Wine on Georgia Avenue in North Augusta
