It's March and that means it's time for Jersey Mike's annual "Month of Giving" campaign to benefit local charities.

Throughout the month, 10 Jersey Mike's Subs locations in the Augusta area will give customers the option of "rounding up" their purchase to the nearest dollar, or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing an order.www.jerseymikes.com

Wednesday, March 27, has been designated Jersey Mike's "Day of Giving."  That day only, local Jersey Mike's locations will give 100% of the day's sales to the Burn Foundation of America.

"On Day of Giving, local Jersey Mike's owners and operators throughout the country will donate their resources and every single dollar that comes in, whether in-store, online or through the app, to more than 200 different charities including hospitals, organizations, food banks and more," according to a statement from Jersey Mike's.

Jersey Mike's founder and CEO, Peter Cancro, was just 17 when he started the company.   He says the company has raised more than $88 million for local charities since "Month of Giving" began in 2011.

Cancro hopes to set a record this year on March 27.  Last year's $21 million was a record-breaking national fundraising total.

"I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike's Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100% of sales, every penny, goes to help a great local cause," said Cancro.
