A major cellular outage has been reported today.  If your cell phone service is provided by AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon, chance are you have no service this morning.

A major outage was reported at 4:30 am today.

Downdetector.com is reporting that most of the problems are in Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Honolulu, Chicago, San Francisco and San Antonio.

More than 31,900 AT&T wireless customers reported outages starting at 4 am.

Verizon and T-Mobile customers reported more than 800 service outages.

As of 6:15 am, that number had decreased to more than 24,000 outages.

The outage is preventing wireless customers from making and receiving any phone calls, including 9-1-1, and sending or receiving text messages.  Some customers are reporting internet issues as well.

No word as to what caused the major cellular outage or when customers can expect to have their service restored.
