Goodwill Opening Store in Augusta
Goodwill is opening another store in Augusta, this time in the medical district.
The ribbon will be cut this Thursday, February 8, on Goodwill of Middle Georgia‘s newest retail training store in the CSRA.
Doors will open to the new store at 1050 Walton Way immediately after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 am hosted by the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce.
“The Central Savannah River Area has been our home since 1996, and we are excited to now have a retail training store in Augusta’s bustling Medical District,” said James K. Stiff, President of Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA.
The 6,700 square-foot retail showroom will feature an inventory of over 20,000 items and accessories, including a selection of scrubs. It features the New Lives mural painted by students and faculty from Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School. The mural features the faces of people who have been empowered by Goodwill’s career development programs, as well as Helms College.
Retail training stores provide the biggest source of funding for Goodwill’s nonprofit mission, to build lives, families and communities one career at a time.
According to Goodwill, 86 cents of every dollar helps to earn funds training, education, career counseling and employment help for those facing barriers to getting a job within the agency’s 35-county service delivery area.
