Update: Autopsy Results on Body Found in Warrenville
Autopsy results are in on the body of a man found on the front porch of his home this week in Warrenville.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables says the body of 52-year-old Joseph A. Keenan Sr. was spotted on the front porch of his home in the 2000 block of Augusta Road. A passerby spotted Keenan’s body around 2:11 pm and notified authorities.
Investigators initially called the cause of Keenan’s suspicious. An autopsy performed in Newberry revealed Keenan had been shot. His death has been ruled a homicide. No word yet on any arrests.
Body Found Wednesday in Richmond County
Just after midnight Wednesday, Richmond County deputies were called to the 400 block of East Boundary Street where one person had been shot.
Richmond County Coroner Mark Bowen said 28-year-old Wonya Malik Ryan was shot at least one time and was taken to Wellstar MCG where he was pronounced dead at 2:06 am.
A suspect has reportedly been identified in Ryan’s death, but is not in custody yet. An autopsy has been scheduled.
Warrenville Man Faces Attempted Murder Charge from Shooting January 7
A Warrenville man was arrested last week in connection with a shooting January 7 on Baker Street.
A woman told the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office shots were fired at her vehicle from a black sedan travelling in the opposite direction. It didn’t appear the woman’s vehicle was hit.
Last week, 27-year-old Matthew Alexander Fields was taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder in connection with the incident. He’s being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
Case on Fatal Accident Involving Richmond County Deputy Forwarded to the District Attorney
More information has been released about a fatal accident involving Richmond County Deputy Ty Dailey last March. The Georgia State Patrol released its findings after investigating the crash . They say 75-year-old Jay Fager of Blythewood, South Carolina was behind the wheel of an SUV and failed to yield at the intersection of Cohen Road and Highway 25 in Burke County. His vehicle hit a patrol car driven by Richmond County Deputy Ty Dailey. Fager died as a result of his injuries. His wife, who was a passenger in the car, and Dailey were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries. Fager was found at-fault in the collision.
The District Attorney’s Office in Augusta has forwarded the case to the Burke County Solicitor General’s Office for further review.
