Drink A Beer Or Glass Of Wine While Shopping At Publix

I have shopped at Publix for years and love it. When I moved to Florida, the first time I felt at home was when I walked into Publix on Fourth Street in St Pete. But now, I would feel at home in their new cafe, Publix Pours.

Publix's new concept is already in a few Florida stores. In the future, if state laws allow it, you may be allowed to drink a beer or glass of wine while shopping at Publix in South Carolina and Georgia, too.

Publix Pours is already open in some Publix locations in Florida. This small bar/cafe will feature premium coffee, espresso, smoothies, beer, and wine. In addition to your favorite alcoholic beverage, this new concept will offer fresh fruit and protein smoothies, too.

The first areas for Publix Pours are Orlando, Ormand Beach, and St Augustine. This gives a new meaning to "Where Shopping is a Pleasure." I like a cold beer, but I'm not sure I would drink one while grocery shopping, would you? I can just see holiday shoppers shopping at the last minute for their Thanksgiving feast while fighting the crowds with a cold beer in hand. On second thought, it might help.

Some stores in Florida have liquor stores in their Publix, and being from South Carolina, I was surprised to see that. You can grab a bottle of your favorite bourbon and then shop for dinner.

We'll see if this concept makes it to the Carolinas and Georgia. If it does, it will be a popular addition, as they've seen in Florida. In the meantime, you'll have to wait til you get home and put your groceries up til you can grab a beer out of your fridge, or you could take a trip to Disney and check out the Publix in Orlando that offers Publix Pours.
