Beloved Southern Style Restaurant Isn’t Closing After All
Last month, we shared the news that Ruth’s Family Restaurant would be closing at the end of the year. The restaurant had posted on Facebook with the announcement saying December 30th would be their last day. They thanked the community for “13 wonderful years.” But now there’s news that they won’t be closing afterall.
The owner of the restaurant, Dee Garland, told WJBF that she was ready for the next chapter and to retire. There also wasn’t an offer for a new lease on the building. Now things have changed. There has been an agreement between owners and a new lease has been granted. This means the restaurant can continue operation for the next five years.
As operation of the restaurant continues, one of the servers, Dianna Davis, will become the new manager alongside her husband. Davis has worked at Ruth’s Family Restaurant for the past 13 years.
The restaurant has a longstanding history. And many people are thankful they will be able to continue to patron the restaurant and make more memories with their families.
Also, as they announced the restaurant will be staying open, they also have some job positions they are looking to hire for. Just today they posted they will need a full time dishwasher and a full time line cook.
