Austin: Hats off to the Merchants Association of Columbia County, another home run, a grand slam. The Columbia County Fair. Absolutely a thrill win last night with Bo. A little bit chilly, but, hey, it's fair weather. It's supposed to be cold and it's supposed to be dark.
And in my opinion, I don't understand why anybody goes to the fair in the daytime. I mean, I have a blast at night. That's the best way to do it. But anyway. Rode all the thrill rides and man, they got a bunch of them, including the brand new Subzero, which watching it spin and hurl through the air And oh my gosh, I don't know quite how to explain it on the radio, but I can tell you that it was a thrill ride, unlike bone I've ever seen at any fair. And we had a blast. Scared the heck out of us a little bit. But hey, that's what it's supposed to do, right?
One final note about the Golabchi exhibit the animal exhibit, the world's largest private collection of trophy animals taken from all over the world. Folks, I don't have any signage up for it. If you don't know that, you're looking for it when when you're there, you have no idea that it's there. And I don't quite know what to say about that. I don't quite know why they're doing it that way. I stopped probably and talked to 100 people that I knew that ran into me at the fair last night that didn't know the Golabchi exhibit was open and I directed them to it and they came away raving about it.
The folks that see it absolutely love it, but they've got to work on promoting exactly where it is and what it is. Once you get in there, it's fully, you know, explanatory, self-explanatory. But they've got to do a better job of directing people over that way. Look for the global bocce exhibit. Ask anyone that's working at the fair. They'll tell you about it. The world's greatest collection of privately held trophy animals that you'll find anywhere in the world. It is amazing. 30,000 square feet of WOW. And that's the comment, I'm Austin Rhodes AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
