The Foodees Food And Culture Festival Is Taking Over The Freedom Bridge In Augusta

Reynolds Street, 5th Street, and the newly renovated Freedom Bridge will be turned into a food lover's paradise, and who doesn’t love food?

On November 3-5, the Foodees Food and Culture Festival will be coming to Downtown Augusta. It will also be the first event held on the Freedom Bridge in Downtown Augusta.

There will be over 30 food trucks, crafts, and art vendors in attendance. This three-day festival aims to showcase Augusta’s local and international cuisine.

The Freedom Bridge, previously known as the 5th Street Bridge, is now award-winning as it took home the win in the small project category, in the 2023 America’s Transportation Awards.

The festival's location was strategically chosen to be on the Freedom Bridge. The bridge represents symbolic ties to freedom and unity, which align with the goals of the festival.

There will be lots to enjoy at the festival. One of the main highlights that will take place is the cultural showcase. The cultural showcase is where local artists, artisans, and craftsmen will come together to display their creations. That includes handcrafted jewelry, paintings, sculptures, and more. Augusta has a thriving art scene, so this will be a great way to take a glimpse firsthand.

For those who want to learn even more about the art showcased, festival-goers will have the chance to engage and talk with local artists to learn more about their pieces and creative processes. There will also be pieces on sale to take home.

Other activities that will be going on throughout the festival are interactive games, contests, and live music throughout the day.

Another plus is that the bridge gives you great views of the Savannah River and a nice spot for pictures.

If you don’t catch the festival this time, no worries because they already have another date and location for another city in the CSRA. May 3 – May 5, the Foodees Food and Culture Festival will be coming to Aiken. This will be their second year going to Aiken.

So many and way too many times we all hear that there is never anything to do.  Well, I've learned Augusta-You Have So Much To Offer For Food And Fun.  As the second largest and fastest growing city in the State of Georgia, in Augusta, we have more to offer than ever before.

New restaurants and fun places are opening almost weekly in Augusta.  It depends on what it is you want to do you can find it here. Do you Love Country Music and nightlife?  The Dirty Boots Augusta is open on Broad Street.  Maybe you like a place to go where the younger people hang out to socialize, you can go to Sole or Garden City Social.

If the nightlife isn't for you, We have the Canal, The River Walk, Phinizy Swamp Nature Park, The Augusta Museum Of History and so much more.  With the growth of our military base and the cyber command, we are seeing people come to Augusta and business owners are stepping up to take care of those needs, and we are so thankful.

To me, one of the coolest things to take in with friends is the Broad Axe Throwing Club.  Talk about taking out some stress.  This is the way to do it

We have so much to offer just in the city of Augusta Alone, we haven't in this story talked about the happenings in North Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, or Aiken.  I hope you enjoy the videos below and that they inspire you to get out and enjoy just some of what Augusta has to offer.
