Austin talks about anti-Second Amendment activists.
Transcript:
Austin Rhodes: Ask just about any anti-Second Amendment activist that you want to in this country. And they’ll tell you they not only want to see the number of guns reduced greatly in this country, but they also want to limit your ability as a legally qualified gun consumer, your ability to go out and instantly buy a gun. They want background checks, which I get. I understand that, but also a waiting period.
Why don’t you ask the folks in Maine how they feel about waiting periods? They just had a marauding gunman out in the countryside roaming around for days with the full intention of killing just about anybody that he ran into. And gun sales in Maine skyrocketed. I can’t imagine that part of Maine not having a huge number of people who already had firearms in their possession.
But bottom line, the authorities didn’t have to wait. They sold guns instantly because sometimes you need them instantly. Another group of people that found out the hard way how important it is to have a firearm or access to a firearm when you need it. The good people of Israel. Can you imagine that, folks? I’m never wanting to force gun ownership on people. But please, if you have any inclination whatsoever to protect yourself and your family, get a firearm, train yourself with it, get proficient with it, and understand that it is a tool to be used. Hopefully never. But there if you need it, kind of like a spare tire, kind of like emergency medicine, you don’t want to be playing around with having more than you need.
You certainly don’t want to engage in overkill as far as, you know, loading yourself up with an armory, but at least have basic ammunition and a good understanding of how to operate that firearm. If, in fact, God forbid, you’re president using it. Folks in Maine and folks in Israel found out the hard way what happens when you don’t have a gun when you need it. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
