Austin’s Daily Commentary – October 24, 2023

Austin: As the events of the last several weeks have unraveled in the Middle East, there has been an amazing, amazing amount of ignorance expressed particularly by young people in America, over the plight of the Palestinians and the entire reason that Israel existed in the first place.

Dave Chappelle has ruffled feathers suggesting that Israel is somehow out of order in all of what has gone on. And well, there's just, again, a general lack of understanding as to how the entire Middle East problem started to exist in the first place. Make it a priority. You know, we always talk about having that talk with our children about the facts of life and the dangers of drugs and the importance of religion in your life, that type of thing. But do you really have a good communication, a lot of communication with your children over the basic conflicts that unfortunately make the headlines all the time these days?

It's going to be a priority in our house to make sure that our son understands exactly why Israel exist, why they are where they are, and why they continue to have American support, and why it's important that they continue to have American support. Again, have you had that talk with your children? Very, very fundamental piece of information to have walking around in the world, particularly with what's in the headlines right this minute.

Israel has a right to exist. Americans help provide the well, let's just say the very means and the security with which they were original originally brought to life, the entire nation of Israel. And as a matter of fact, if you are a Christian, you feel like you've got a little bit of a responsibility here, not only in a societal sense and a governmental sense, but in a spiritual sense to look after their well-being. Most definitely. Make sure your kids have the same knowledge. Very, very important. Particularly in this day and age.
