Tip Top Taps, formerly located on Washington Road in Columbia County, closed over a year ago.
Not only did the location close but the building was demolished. While they did state to the community that this "wasn’t a goodbye, just a see you later," due to the length of time from then to now of it being closed, to many it did start to feel like a permanent goodbye.
Tip Top Taps was known for its assorted taps and wide selection of craft beers. Also, it was many beer lovers' one stop shop to fill up their growlers. A growler is an airtight sealed beer container that maintains a beverage's carbonation for up to three days. They can either be made of glass, steel, or ceramic.
In September of 2022, there was a spark of hope for the reopening as they announced they had some good news. The good news was that another location was on its way to Broad Street at the J.B. White Building. This was also the former Book Tavern space.
But once that was announced, it soon started to feel like it was taking forever as well.
Good News from Tip Top Taps
But! Recently, after a year of nothing, some good news seems to be coming for the Tip Top Taps business and customers.
Tip Top Taps stated via Facebook that “the wait will be over soon.” Construction has taken longer than imagined, but the finish line is in sight.
Check out some of the photos below of what's to come at the new location.
The returning business will even be a part of the Trick or Treat on Broad Street event as a candy stop. The event will be held Halloween Weekend.
With the move from Evans in Columbia County to Downtown Augusta in Richmond County, many are still hoping for another Evans location or even a Grovetown location in the near future.
