Austin talks about political differences and debate.
Transcript:
Austin: Political debate is my business. 31 years I have discussed it and seen it all just about seen it all, discussed everything from disagreements over smoking regulations to tax rates turning right on red to your favorite football team. And most of the time my opinion is we go along and get along. We make sure that our everyday lives are not affected by our political differences of opinion, and most of the time we do it successfully, even right here in America, as vicious and as nasty as those disagreements can be.
But folks, I have to say this, and I think all of us need to accept it. There is no equivalency for what’s been going on in Palestine and Hamas’s behavior toward the Israelis. On the other side of the coin. In other words, they’re not justified. They cannot be given a break here, and there should be no peace in that region as long as Hamas and Palestine continue their aggression toward Israel.
Back in 1945, the world got together and decided that Israel was going to be allowed to exist where they exist. And they do have that right, No doubt about it. What the folks with a political agenda on the other side have to say about it. I’m very sorry that there are disagreements, but there is absolutely no justification for the type of physical attacks on the innocent that Hamas has launched against Israel. Period. I stand with them 1,000%.
And if you have people in your life who don’t understand this, you need to explain it to them. Perhaps they there’s a misunderstanding somewhere. And if you can’t get past that, then you need to make the decision like I’ve made that you don’t need those people in your life at all. If the logic that has been presented by those on the Hamas side of this argument is to be accepted, then there is literally no atrocity that is too great. The your political point put across and I just don’t buy that. Not in America. We cannot exist that way.
That’s a very, very strong opinion that I have no doubt about it. But I think it’s about the only one we can live with. God bless Israel. I stand with them completely. Hamas must be eliminated and the Palestinians must be brought to understand that. And that’s the comment, I’m Austin Rhodes AM 580/95.1 FM News Talk WGAC.
