I have often traveled by this nursing home and always wanted to check it out. Recently, a friend and I were going to Greenville and decided to take a look. We drove up the long driveway littered with debris and grown up with weeds and tall grass and walked in the front door of this  Abandoned Nursing Home In Edgefield.

It is creepy, like most abandoned places, and it seems it has been a hang-out with some younger locals who have also spray-painted graffiti on the walls. Strangely, I can't find out much about the old Manor of Edgefield. No news clippings or anything.

It always amazes me that homes or businesses that once thrived with people are just left to fall apart. I can imagine this building full of patients having lunch in the cafeteria, talking and laughing with their friends, and now, it is eerily quiet. As you can see in the pictures below, it is probably beyond repair.

If anyone knows anything about this building, please email me at tee.gentry@bbgi.com.

Also, let me know of any other abandoned places I should visit in South Carolina or Georgia. I would love to check out more. Another friend mentioned a few abandoned mills in the area, and I've seen so many old home places that I would like to know more about. Every abandoned place has got to have a story, but I haven't seen anything about this one......yet.
