CSRA College Night to be held September 14

The annual CSRA College Night returns to the James Brown Arena on Thursday, September 14. This gives parents and high school students a chance to talk to recruiters from more than 100 colleges and universities across the country.

The event is from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the arena at 601 7th Street. Admission is free.

Seniors who have at least a 2.5 grade point average can register to win a $1,000 scholarship. Scholarships totaling $15,000 will be awarded tomorrow night.

Students and their parents are encouraged to attend seminars there on the Hope Scholarship, Financial Aid, Financial Literacy, and Savannah River Site Apprenticeships.  You can even get information about workforce opportunities at SRS.

CSRA College Night is a cooperative effort among Department of Energy (DOE), and Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC (SRNS) for CSRA high school students, primarily 11th and 12th graders, and their parents to explore college education opportunities.  They will also get a chance to talk to representatives from accredited colleges and universities from the across the country.  Professional and technical societies will also attend.

She has also worked as a former Police and Courts Reporter for The Republic Newspaper and Assistant Marketing Director of Merchants National Bank in Indianapolis. Mary Liz focuses most on local breaking news stories, feature stories on upcoming events, or community-service related organizations and the people who serve them. She has been with WGAC since 1995.
