Another Downtown Aiken Restaurant Closing
It’s the last week of operation for yet another downtown Aiken restaurant. Jameson McDubby’s shared an announcement on their Facebook page that Saturday (September 9) will be their last day open.
In the post, they thank everyone for their support and share that it was a difficult decision. They are closing to focus on their families. Due to multiple business ventures, the owners have been stretched thin. They do share they hope you’ll visit their sister restaurant, JDubbZ Pizza & Wingz, where many of their employees will be going.
Jameson McDubby’s is located at 126 Laurens Street NW in Aiken, if you’d like to pay one last visit to the pub before they close. They invite you to come out for “one last taste of where ‘Aiken Meets Ireland.'”
Just last week, we shared that Fuse Aiken was officially closed. This is one of many local restaurants that have recently announced their closings.
Family Owned Restaurants in Augusta That Feel Like a Home Away From Home
Today, June 23, is recognized as National Family Owned and Operated Businesses Day. A day to salute family-owned and operated businesses that are surviving and thriving through this economy. In Augusta, we are fortunate enough to have tons of family-owned and operated businesses. This holiday includes all types of businesses. We are going to focus on the restaurants that are run by a family. So not just locally owned restaurants, but those where it’s family owned and family run. It’s cool to find out which places are a family-owned restaurant in Augusta.
Visiting a family-owned and operated business is always a special experience. If they only have locations in your area, you are getting a one-of-a-kind meal. And not everybody that is outside of that area can get that meal on a daily. Another reason it is a special experience is that they often strive to be customer friendly and make you feel at home.
