Conagra Brands is recalling over 245,000 pounds of Banquet frozen chicken strips meals over concerns there could be pieces of plastic in some of them.

The company announced the recall after a consumer reported suffering an injury to the mouth after consuming one of the meals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the recalled products are 8.9-ounce cartons containing one entree of Banquet Chicken Strips Meal with best-if-used-by dates of December 11, 2024; January 1, 2025; or January 7, 2025 and lot numbers 5009317120, 5009319220, or 5009319820 located on the side of the carton.  The recalled products also have the establishment number EST. P-9" printed on the side of the box.

The Banquet Chicken Strips Meals were shipped to retail locations across the country and were also sold online.

"The problem was discovered when the firm notified FSIS that it received a consumer complaint of plastic in the chicken strip portion of the product, which resulted in an oral injury associated with consumption of this product," Conagra Brands wrote.

Anyone with the affected Banquet Chicken Strips Meals in the freezer are encouraged to either throw them away or return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.

Earlier this year, Conagra Brands recalled over 2.5 million pounds of canned Vienna sausages and chicken products due to packaging issues that could have resulted in contamination.
