Augusta Offers Paid Training to Become Emergency Medical Responder
Gold Cross EMS is once again offering free paid training to become an Emergency Medical Responder. The CSRA’s locally-owned EMS provider is offering free training to help combat the nationwide shortage of emergency medical personnel.
The three-week course will begin Monday, September 25, at the company’s headquarters at 4328 Wheeler Road in Martinez. Those who are interested must submit an application at www.goldcrossems.com by Monday, September 18.
The tuition-free academy will provide quality training for anyone interested in becoming an emergency medical responder for Gold Cross EMS. Full-time employment with benefits, including health insurance, will begin on the first day of class. Trainees will complete a 40-hour work week and take all necessary coursework to prepare for the national examination. Uniforms, textbooks, and equipment will be provided for those taking the course.

Once the graduate becomes certified, there will be an immediate wage increase. Along with other incentives and promotions that Gold Cross will offer. Graduates also become immediately eligible to receive the company’s benefits that include paid time off; health, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance, and employer-matched 401K. Tuition assistance will also be available for a paramedic program.
To be eligible for enrollment in the Gold Cross EMR program, candidates must be at least 21 and have a high school diploma or GED.
You must have a valid Georgia driver’s license, pass a background check, provide a three-year Motor Vehicle Record MVR. You must also pass a physical agility test and urine drug screen. A two-year commitment to Gold Cross EMS is also required.
