Weekend Shooting Leaves Wrens Teen Dead
A 19-year-old Jefferson County girl is the latest victim of gun violence in the CSRA.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Khia Shields was shot around 1:00 am Saturday at a home in the 400 block of Washington Street in Wrens. Shields was unconscious when emergency responders arrived. She was taken to Augusta University Medical Center where she died a short time later.
For now, authorities say it appears Shields was the victim of a drive-by shooting. For no there are no suspects in the incident.
