Downtown Augusta’s Popular Cafe The Bee’s Knees Now has its Sign in a Local museum
The Bee’s Knees may be gone, but the sign has found a new home.
Almost a year ago, The Bee’s Knees, a popular staple in Downtown Augusta closed permanently.
The restaurant had been open for over 18 years and then closed November 2020 during the pandemic. Once they reopened after the pandemic, the owner wanted to try something new with the popular Augusta establishment.
Owner, Eric Kinlaw, wanted to change the whole concept and turn it into a bakery, a coffee shop, and add a vintage store.
With the final closing in November 2022, a lot of the furniture and décor went on sale at various shops around the CSRA, but what about the marquee sign?
What Happen to the Bee’s Knees Sign?
The Bee’s Knees had the same marquee sign hanging outside of the building since its opening 2 decades ago, and now that sign has found a new home.
The Bee’s Knees sign has been installed into the Augusta Museum of History!
Augusta Museum is still doing Dollar Dog Days , which means admission into the museum is only $1.00.
