North Augusta Woman Killed While Walking
A woman was walking along Edgefield Road in North Augusta late this morning when she was hit by a pickup truck.
Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables says 59-year-old Tracy L. McCary was walking in the 300 block of Edgefield Road when she was struck by the northbound vehicle at 11 am.
McCary was transported to Augusta University Medical Center where she died.
The North Augusta Department of Public Safety and the coroner’s office are investigating the cause of the accident.
