Hephzibah Man Killed in Lexington County Crash Today
A Richmond County man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Lexington County.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Brian Francis Vyhnal of Hephzibah was headed east in the westbound lanes of I-20 when he collided head-on with an SUV at the 53 mile marker around 2:00 am today.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Vyhnal died at the scene due to massive injuries.
Authorities said there were three adults and one juvenile in the SUV. All four were taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
