The nation's largest supermarket chain is recalling some of its Private Selection bags of frozen fruit, due to the threat of listeria contamination. Health officials say the bacteria can be transmitted when food is harvested, processed, prepared, packed, transported or stored in environments contaminated with listeria.
Symptoms of listeria include nausea, high fever, diarrhea, severe headaches, stomach aches, confusion, stiffness, and poor balance.
Kroger, the nation's largest supermarket chain in America, is recalling four of its frozen fruit products including:
- Private Selection Tropical Mango Chunks-48oz. bags with best-by dates of 4/30/24, 5/4/24, 5/7/24, and 7/18/24
- Private Selection Strawberry, Mango & Pineapple Blend-16oz bags with best-by dates of 4/30/24, 5/4/24, and 5/28/24
- Private Selection Classic Fruit Medley-48oz. bags with best-by dates of 5/3/24, 5/4/24, 5/10/24, and 5/18/24
- Private Selection Blueberries, Strawberries & Mangoes-480z. bags with best-by dates of 4/30/24, 5/7/24, and 5/8/24.

Earlier this summer, frozen fruit products were recalled at Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Walmart, Aldi, and Costco due to listeria or Hepatitis A contamination.
