A South Carolina teen was killed by a falling tree on Monday.  He is one of at least two deaths related to deadly storms in the U.S.

Evan Christopher Kinley, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene.  It happened in Anderson, South Carolina.  The boy was arriving at his grandparent's house during the storm.  When he was exiting the car, he was struck and killed by a falling tree.

According to WLOS, the fire department, police department, and EMS all arrived on the scene in response to a 911 call.  The victim was trapped after the tree fell on a garage.  This happened around 5 p.m.

The news release from the coroner's office says the boy died from multiple traumatic injuries secondary to blunt-force trauma.

In addition to the two deaths, thousands of flights were canceled or delayed.  And more than 1.1 million homes and businesses lost power due to the strong storms in the eastern U.S.
