What is There to Love About Augusta? We’ve Got 6 Reasons
What is there to love about Augusta?
I ran across a discussion post that centered around the topic of what Augustans loved about Augusta. With much positive feedback, I gathered a few of the repeating answers to share.
Augusta is most known for being the home of The Master's golf tournament, but that is not the only thing to love or admire about the city. In fact, that isn't included today in this list to give shine to some things to enjoy all year round.
For those that are already settled here, sometimes you can miss what's going on right in your own backyard.
If you are new to the city or looking to relocate to the area you're in for a treat. This is your headstart on what you can experience in this city.
Take a look at the list below to get a feel of what Augusta is all about.
Not mention you get a 2 for 1 when living in the CSRA with Augusta, bordering North Augusta, Sc.
Local Arts
Augusta has a really big art scene. Whether it's local artists leaving there mark in the streets or pop up galleries to showcase there work throughout the year.
Water Ways
Augusta has so many body's of water between here and North Augusta that allow residents to canoe, kayak, and even jet ski. Maybe your looking for a boat day or even wanting to have a picnic out by the waterfall.
The Commute
Augusta seems to be the perfect middle man when it comes to a commute. Many people stated that they love that its 2 hours to big cities like Atlanta. Two hours to the beach. 4 hours to Florida. 3 hours to the mountains.
Even traveling within Augusta itself for everyday needs can be about a 5-20 minute drive to most places.
local events and festivals
There is always something going on in Augusta for all interests and age groups. The downtown really comes to life when events and festivals are hosted out on the streets.
Performing arts theaters
Like stated earlier, Augusta surely does have a love for its arts. Dancing, plays, and music, is another form of arts that is showcased very well. Especially at the number of performing arts theaters that are here. We have some eye-caching, newly renovated, but still old time feel theaters like Miller theatre and Imperial theatre.
the food
Definitely one of my personal favorites, and a ton of other Augustans favorite about this place is the food. So many cuisines and family owned restaurants to choose from that you just cant get any where else.
