Austin talks about cognitive fitness of elected officials.

Transcript:

Austin Rhodes [00:00:01] In today's heated political atmosphere, if you attempt to have a conversation about the cognitive fitness of President Joe Biden and you happen to be on the right side of the aisle, you're going to be dismissed as a partisan hack who's taking a cheap shot at someone whose politics you disagree with.

Well, let's take the occasion of yesterday's bizarre episode with Republican Mitch McConnell. For those of us on the right to say once and for all, we need a cognitive fitness test for all of our elected leaders, particularly the ones that get over the age of 75. Unbelievably scary yesterday, what happened to Senator McConnell. And I'm not taking a cheap shot at him. But again, it goes to show that we are having problems with the cognitive abilities of our leaders, Republican and Democrat.

President Biden's very, very sad state has been a concern for anyone with half a brain. And I got to tell you, anyone who says that critique and or well, objection to his current state of mind is simply a partisan squabble is absolutely not looking at the facts. Again, let's advance a conversation about very strenuous and specific cognitive tests that elected leaders and actually business leaders and everyone else needs to start having over the age of 75.

As John pointed out a little while ago, we're living much longer than we ever have before. And as a result, we're going to be active much longer into our physical life, making sure that we're firing on all cylinders. It's common sense. And quite frankly, it's a merciful thing to do. And that the comment, I'm Austin Rhodes, AM 580/95.1 FM, News Talk WGAC.
