This is the Best Secret Camping Spot in Georgia

Georgia is such a great place to camp. It’s one of the finest places to camp in America, if you ask me. What’s great is that in Georgia, you can camp early in the spring and late in the fall, unlike some more northern areas of the U.S. But, sometimes the usual camp spots can get really repetitive. Why not venture out and try a new camping area that you’ve never tried before? Well, there are lots of undiscovered camping areas that are special in this state. So, what’s the best secret camping spot in Georgia?

Only In You State has put together a list of several secluded camping grounds in Georgia. “We all have something that we daydream about escaping on occasion. Next time you feel that need to escape somewhere secluded, check out some of these campgrounds in Georgia,” they state in the article. Only In Your State also adds that each camping spot offers “relaxing quiet camping that will make you feel miles away from all your worries.” That sounds so good, right?

Before we get to No. 1, let’s look at No. 2 on the list. It’s Raven Cliffs Wilderness in Cleveland. This area features more than 9,000 protected acres within the Chattahoochee National Forest. It’s also famous for having the Raven Cliff Falls, a beautiful waterfall that drops 40 feet.

So, what’s the No. 1 best secret camping spot in Georgia? It’s Fort Mountain State Park, located at 181 Fort Mountain State Park Road in Chatsworth. Only In Your State says that the area “has a renovated fire tower that will give you some of the best views in the Peach State.   • Lake Santeetlah, North Carolina
