I'm pretty sure this is what heaven looks like.  Recently, hundreds of dogs were hanging out at an event in Scotland.  It was a celebration of the golden retriever breed.  The breed was celebrating its 155th anniversary.

Golden retrievers originated in Scotland in the late nineteenth century.  According to Wikipedia, the breed was created by Sir Dudley Marjoribanks.  He apparently bred flat-coated retrievers with Tweed Water Spaniels with some Red Setter, Labrador Retriever, and Bloodhound included. Marjoribanks had a goal of creating the ultimate breed of retriever.

In the 1970s, the breed's popularity increased with President Gerald Ford and his beautiful golden retriever, Liberty.

The golden retriever breed was officially recognized by the Kennel Club in 1911 as "Retriever - Yellow or Golden." In 1920, they were recognized as "Retriever - Golden."

Golden retrievers are known for being intelligent, friendly, and devoted. You'll often find them hunting or doing fieldwork.  They also make great guide dogs and search and rescue dogs.

And you know, Dub just recently got a golden!  Check out her adorable pictures below!
