Man Wanted for Questioning in Rape Case

Richmond County authorities are looking for a man they want to question in a recent rape case.

A homeless woman reported she was raped last week at the Hendrix Apartments on Boy Scout Road.

The woman said she had climbed over the pool fence, removed her clothes and went swimming before falling asleep around the pool.

She told investigators a black male she only knew as "Jake" also climbed over the fence, grabbed her and reportedly forced her to have sex with him.  She said the suspect threatened to kill her while choking her.

She said she notified police after the suspect left the area.  The victim had visible bruising and was taken to Doctors Hospital where a Sexual Assault Evidence kit was collected.

Anyone with information that could help identify the man wanted for questioning is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff's Office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020.
