Do you have younger children that brought home a summer reading list, that needs to be complete by the start of the next school year?

The first step to tackling that reading list is by getting the books. Well, the Augusta Richmond County School System and Augusta-Richmond County Public Library System have made that first step a bit easier. They have partnered to give every Richmond County School System student a library card, for free!

Now it must be a minute since I've got a library card because now the cards are digital!

The PINES Library Access for Youth (PLAY) Card is what each child will receive. These digital cards allow students to easily connect to public library materials and resources to give them access to books, videos, and a number of different resources to complete the summer reading list for each list.

You can use your PLAY card at any of Augusta’s six library locations to check out materials and use any of the library’s digital resources, such as the computers.

These are the 6 Richmond County libraries:

  • Augusta Public Library – Headquarters
  • Appleby Branch Library
  • Diamond Lakes Library
  • Friedman Branch Library
  • Jeff Maxwell Branch Library
  • Wallace Branch Library
