Richmond County Deputy Charged with Bringing Contraband into Detention Center
A Richmond County deputy was arrested today following allegations he brought contraband into the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
A news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office says information surfaced Saturday that Deputy Arrington Mursier was believed to have taken a controlled substance into the Detention Center. Following an investigation, Mursier was charged today with Possession of Scheduled 1 Narcotic with Intent to Distribute, Conspiracy to Distribute Scheduled 1 Narcotic, and Violation of Oath by Public Officer. Mursier was booked into the Detention Center and was also terminated today.
Mursier began his employment with the Sheriff’s Office on June 11, 2022.
