Marie Callender's frozen beef shepherd's pie products are being recalled since they could contain bits of clear, flexible plastic, among other materials.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service recalled nearly 3,000 pounds of the frozen products after officials began receiving reports of clear plastic material being found in the food.

The recalled products were produced in March and sold nationwide.  The product came in 4.31-pound cases labeled "MC Beef Shepherd's Pie" with lot code 5006306020, containing six 11.5-ounce carton packages of Marie Callender's Beef Shepherd's Pie with the same lot code.  The products have a Best By date of February 24, 2024.

Consumers with the recalled product in their freezer should either throw it away or return it to the point of purchase for a refund.

So far, there have been no reports of adverse reactions from consuming the Shepherd's Pie.
