Man Arrested for Exposing Himself in Dollar General

Columbia County Sheriff's Office

A Columbia County man has been charged again with exposing himself to local shoppers.  Authorities say 28-year-old Michael Scott Stephens allegedly exposed himself to a woman at the Dollar General store at the entrance to Ivy Falls on Columbia Road early Saturday afternoon.  The victim told deputies she noticed a man was following her in the store.  When she turned around, she said he was exposing himself and performing a lewd act.  She said the man took off and ran out of the store when she screamed. Stephens was taken into custody Tuesday and was charged with Public Indecency, third or subsequent conviction.

The sheriff's Office says this wasn't the first such incident involving Stephens.  He was charged with a similar incident at Walmart on Bobby Jones Expressway in 2019.  Authorities say he was out of jail on bond at the time for exposing himself  in 2018 at Walmart on Steiner Way in Grovetown and at LuLu's Car Wash on Bobby Jones Expressway a few months later.
