Target has announced it's recalling nearly 5 million Threshold brand candles sold at its stores across the country, saying the glass jars can crack or break while the wick is burning.

Should that happen, cuts and serious burns could result.  The recall is for 5.5-ounce one-wick candles in various scents; 14-ounce three-wick and 20-ounce three-wick Threshold candles sold in-store and online between August 2019 and March 2023.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says so far there have been over 100 reports of the candles breaking while in use, with at least six people injured.

Officials urge consumers to stop using the recalled products immediately and return them to any Target store for a full refund.  You can also contact Target to request a return label to ship the recalled products back to the company.
