A Columbia County man was charged this week after a woman told authorities he sexually assaulted her.

The woman said she had dinner with 24-year-old Dontavious Vinston at a restaurant at Augusta Mall, then stayed in the parking lot where she says they talked for hours.

The woman said Vinston said he would call a rideshare to take him home, but she offered to take him instead.  She said they continued to talk in the car when they arrived at his house in Evans, but the situation changed when she said she wanted to go home.

The victim told authorities Vinston allegedly grabbed her taser and forced her to get into the back seat where he sexually assaulted her.  She also said he tased her when she refused his demands.

The victim said she eventually got away and ran inside Vinston's home where she found his mother and asked for help.

Vinston was charged earlier this week with Aggravated Sodomy, Aggravated Assault and False Imprisonment.  He's being held in the Columbia County Detention Center.
