Jeremy Renner Takes His ‘New’ Body For A ‘Test Drive’

Jeremy Renner is working hard on getting his body back in working order following his near-fatal snowplow incident early this year. The Hawkeye star updated fans on his health over the weekend with videos of his progress thus far.

Renner, 52, joked on Instagram how he was taking his "new" body for a "tiny test drive" as he posted a video of himself performing exercises, despite his "damn shattered tibia." He added in his caption: "The body is miraculous…. Even though I feel like the Tin Man, needing oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia etc ) . Encouraged after this warm up to press on ( don’t tell my PT)."

In another clip, the actor is seen using a walker, a treadmill, then walking with no assistance. He captioned the post: "My PT made this for reference and to remember, you cannot walk unless you take one step at a time! #onefootinfrontoftheother" Via his Instagram Stories Friday, Renner revealed he was experiencing "lower pain levels" and that he was "trying everything" to recover, including a "bone growth stimulator." He added that he is "making recovery and surpassing goals a daily habit!"

As we previously reported, Renner suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries after being crushed by the 14,000-pound Pistenbully snowcat in an attempt to save his nephew from being crushed. He was airlifted to a hospital and after losing a significant amount of blood, Renner underwent multiple surgeries.

Recently, the actor released his four-part original docu-series, Rennervations, on Disney+. Released on April 12, the show embraces Renner’s lifelong passion to give back to communities around the world by teaming up with expert builders to acquire large, decommissioned government vehicles and re-imagine them as "mind-blowing creations" that serve kids in communities worldwide. He attended the red carpet for the first time since his snowplow incident ahead of the Los Angeles premiere.

"I feel like everyone is in on the joke now about what I’ve been doing with my time,” Renner told CNN about how it felt to be at the event. "It feels weird, wonderful, weird. I never thought I’d have dreams as a 52-year-old man still. I feel like I kind of did them. But wow, it’s nice to have things come true for yourself. There’s more wonderment still to be had, and I feel very grateful to be here to continue finding that wonderment.”
