Garden at Jenkins-White Elementary Dedicated in Memory of Arbrie Leigh Anthony

Arbrie Leigh Anthony was just 8 years old when she was gunned down while playing outside with her pony in front of her home on Third Avenue on January 8, 2022.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office said Anthony was shot in the head during a drive-by shooting and died at Augusta University Medical Center.  A few months later, five members of the Loyalty Over Everything Gang were charged with Anthony's murder.  Antoine Redfield, Kendariss Brown, Henri Ramone Beach, Destiny Rich and Antionous Wytell Thomas Jr. face charges ranging from Malice Murder to Felony Murder, Cruelty to Children, Violation of Street Gang Terrorism Act, Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.

Anthony was a student at Jenkins-White Elementary School on 15th Avenue at the time of her death.  Students and staff  are unveiling a memorial garden there today, in honor of Anthony.

The Richmond County School System says today's unveiling is also part of the school's observance of Earth Day.
