U.S. Auto Sales Employees Temporarily Furloughed

A Gwinnett County-based used vehicle company with a location in Augusta has told its employees they shouldn't report to work today.

Employees at U.S .Auto Sales got an email Sunday night that said company officials worked diligently over the weekend with their private equity owner and lenders, but were unable to reach an agreement that will allow the retail and supply chain locations to remain open.

"Unfortunately, this means that our retail and supply chain locations will remain closed on Monday, April 24, and for the foreseeable future.  Regrettably, this also means that if you work at one of these retail or supply chain locations or are on the Underwriting, Marketing, and BDC teams, you will be placed on furlough," according to the email.

U.S. Auto Sales has 39 dealerships across the southeast, including Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
