Chief Judge Carletta Sims Brown and the judges of the Richmond County Civil and Magistrate Court will officiate Cinco de Mayo, "Nacho Average Wedding" Ceremonies on Friday, May 5 in Augusta.

The special invitation is for Richmond County couples who want to get married on Cinco de Mayo.   Couples must register in advance online by visiting the Civil and Magistrate Court webpage at, www.augustaga.gov/3136/Weddings.  The deadline to register for the "Nacho Average Wedding" event is Friday, April 28 at 5 p.m.  Couples must also purchase a marriage license in advance from the Probate Court of Richmond County.

The wedding ceremonies will be free and will be held at the John H. Ruffin Courthouse, 735 James Brown Boulevard.  Officials say you must have a valid marriage license and government-issued identification for each ceremony participant.  Each couple will be allowed to invite three guests, including a photographer.

Officials say the number of available ceremonies is limited.  Call 706-821-2370 for additional information.
