A march and balloon launch will be held later today honoring a local woman who was allegedly shot and killed by her husband at their Richmond County home last week.
Forty-eight-year-old Commen Gunn was shot during a domestic dispute at Brandywine Place. Her husband, 52-year-old Shawn Gunn, fired shots at deputies when they arrived. They returned fire, injuring Gunn. He’s now in the Richmond County Detention Center charged with murder.
Those participating in today’s CSRA Silent Butterflies March and Balloon Release honoring Commen Dean Schultz-Gunn should meet at Bentlee’s Closet, 105 McCartan Street, in downtown Augusta. Participants are asked to bring a purple balloon. The event will end at the Jessye Norman Amphitheatre on 8th Street.
