Augusta University’s largest annual one-day fundraiser was held Wednesday with gifts pouring in from the community, alumni, business partners, athletes, faculty and staff.
University officials say donations from more than 780 people brought in nearly $1.4 million that will be used to support the college and its many programs, including athletics and the health system.
“Augusta Gives helps to boost scholarships, athletics, academics, research, health care, innovation and other vital programs at Augusta University, and we are beyond grateful for this overwhelming support,” said Brandon McCray, vice president for development in Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement.
This year’s target for donors was 750, which was surpassed, coming in at 786.
