Forecast Your Future Career Day – Columbia County
Coming up on Tuesday, March 21, Grovetown Elementary will host the inaugural Forecast Your Future Career Day. The event is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Students from Grovetown and Harlem High Schools will display booths to represent various career paths available in the Columbia County School District. Prior to the event, fourth and fifth graders from Grovetown elementary will choice their top 3 areas of interest. At the event, those students will meet with the high school student representatives who are pursuing those career paths.
Career paths that will be on display at the Forecast Your Future Career Day include:
- Law enforcement
- Allied health
- Sports medicine
- Cosmetology
- Culinary arts
- Cyber security
- Engineering
- Marketing
- Teaching
- Army JROTC
- Agriculture
- Welding
- Automotive
- Graphic design
- Audio/visual and film
The school district is looking to keep students engaged in what they’re learning. And by looking at future goals can help keep them motivated. The event isn’t just great for the elementary students. It helps the high school student with skills their future employers will be looking for.
As the elementary student progress to high school, the goal is for the school to maintain connection and help make learning more relevant for the students.
