Evans Man in Custody on Child Pornography Charges

A Cybertip received through the GBI Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce led to the arrest today of a man in Evans.

The Grovetown Police Department Criminal Investigation Division was contacted after the information was received.  The tip alleged that several dozen sexually explicit images and videos involving children had been uploaded last year to an online cloud system from devices registered to 20-year-old Stanley Hester.  Investigators say Hester was living at a home on Vine Lane in Grovetown at the time.

The GBI, Grovetown Police and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant to Hester this morning at a home in the 1800 block of Hunters Cove in Evans.  He was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Child Pornography.

Investigators say they seized multiple electronic devices at the home as part of the ongoing investigation.  They say additional charges may be forthcoming.
