Richmond County Sheriff's Office

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they say is wanted for an alleged shooting February 20 in the 2200 block of Acapulco Drive.

Investigators say 26-year-old Jermaine Marquez Brooks is accused of firing shots at Tyrone Johnson as he attempted to drop his child off at her mother's apartment.  Authorities say Brooks is the boyfriend of the child's mother, identified as Christina Day.

Investigators say they found four shell casings and one projectile at the scene.

Day was arrested and charged with providing False Statements in a Government Matter after allegedly giving deputies the wrong name of the suspect.

Meanwhile, the search for Brooks continues.  He's black, 5'10" and weighs 145 pounds.  Authorities say he should be considered armed and dangerous.  When in custody, Brooks will be charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
