Man Wanted For Allegedly Shooting Woman Downtown
A woman was shot at the Budgetel Inn at 954 5th Street in Augusta January 21 and authorities have named a suspect.
The victim was reportedly shot at least one time and drove herself to the hospital. Meanwhile, Richmond County investigators say they are looking for 63-year-old Darrell Gathers in connection with the shooting. Gathers is black, 5'11" and 275 pounds. He was last seen traveling in a black Mazda CX-5. It has a temporary tag #S1359666686.
When taken into custody, Gathers will be charged with Aggravated Assault.
