For the second time in less than a week, an Augusta Fire Department truck overturned while responding to an emergency call.

Fire officials say it happened Saturday night at 9:30 p.m. when "Tender 12" and "Engine 12" were responding to a call on Neely Road.  "Tender 12" reportedly veered off the side of the road and overturned, but it's not known what caused the accident.  The firefighter behind the wheel was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

On January 16, another fire department truck overturned on the westbound I-20 on-ramp from Washington Road.  Three firefighters were injured in the mishap, but none had life-threatening injuries.
